Your article is very sweet. However, I do think it is quite troubling. You cannot say that the Koran is "good" and ask people to read "only the parts that are not against your religion". You are in high school and you seem quite mature, so please don't be offended by this. But don't you think that he simple fact that people have to skip over the parts that offend or threaten their religion make the Koran troubling?

You must at least be mature enough to admit that there is SOME hate speech in the Koran. SOME threats. I can tell you to read the Christian bible and NOT skip anything, because none of it will offend you or threaten you. You will not find anything that says Muslims must die. I have read the Koran... cover to cover.

I understand that Islam is the religion that you were raised with... and I understand you feel very close to it. But you are an adult now with your own mind to think and learn... so if you decide to remain muslim you must be honest with yourself.. it is not a peaceful religion. When you are a true believer you must be able to take the Koran as a whole and stand by it. When you chop up the Koran and tell people to only read this section or that section.. then you no longer represent Islam.. you have, in effect, created your own religion... Nashita-ism if you will. This is precisely the problem with Islam... the Koran is so ambiguous that it allows each Muslim to pick and choose which verses to live by and quote. If you DON'T agree with the Koran 100% then you cannot be a true muslim. If you DO agree with the Koran 100% then you cannot believe in world peace.
