The problem is not, as everyone says, that these guys are radical as much as they are fundamentalists. So is fundamentalism of any kind the problem? (The American media, by and large, would wish to have us believe it.) Fundamentalism's danger is linked to the fundamentals. If the fundamentals are dangerous, the fundamentalist will be dangerous.
There are many scriptures (especially the Hadith - sayings of Mohammet), which are not from the Koran, that shape Islam, and hearing this guy below (among others) convinced me that reading the Koran is not a true way to assess the Muslim mind.
