Dr. Alladin's comment is wrong

in response to reader comment: More than just a Peace Pipe...

Dr. Alladin's assessment of the Quraish conveniently ignores some facts .... The Quraish were not Pagans. They were Jews. They sought peace, not war. Mohammed signed them to a treaty and told his supporters the agreement was temporary until they could go stronger. He signed the peace treaty because he could not conquer the Quraish by the sword like he had other tribes.

When he grew stronger he broke the treaty by surprise attack and wiped out the Quraish, murdering every man, woman and child. Arafat frequently uses this story to incite his Muslim Arab followers to destroy Israel.

As for the bloody shoes, one story tells how Mohammed murdered the father and husband of a Jewish girl, and then forced her to bed with him.

Dr. Alladdin also stated Jews thrived under Moslem rule in the 14th century as magistrates, etc. THis was not due to Muslim tolerance. The majority of Moslems were illiterate unlike the Jews whose study of Torah and Talmud which inculcated education.
Jews were good merchants and professionals needed fora thriving economy. The Ottoman Empire was also controlled by Muslim Turks, not Arabs, who to this day are more democratic than their Arab or Persian peers.
