Turkey as an example

Reader comment on item: The Evil Isn't Islam

Submitted by Andrew (Turkey), Dec 2, 2002 at 18:52

I am a Swedish from the UK. I think modern Turkey should be taken as an example for whole islamic world. After the revolution of Turkey in 1923 by the great leader Ataturk,Turkey has its own democracy within islamic religion. I can observe Turkey from UK trying to join the EU and as a half European half Asian country Turkey looks like a bridge from Europe to Asia. We mustn't forget something, we all human beings and should tolarete ourselves like this.
