"But no, you think your book came directly from God. And you know this because it says so in the book, right?"

What you refer to as "circular logic" is, in fact, a reference to faith in God. Think about this for a moment: if you require proof of God's Existence and Will, then what need would there be for faith? Yet Islam, like Judaism and Christianity, DEMAND faith. Similarly, if you require proof that the Christian Bible is the divinely inspired Word of God, then there would be no need for faith in that religion. At that point, it all becomes a power issue: "Prove god exists", one would demand, "and I will believe in Him". There's a flaw in in this type of thinking, however: to whom would one appeal for such proof? Assuming that God is the ultimate authority, one would immediately see that his demand is baseless. The same thing applies to the Bible.
