One Muslim's Perspective

Reader comment on item: The Evil Isn't Islam

You must feel always pressed to present two sides to every debate. To your audience, you appear fair and even-handed, willing to see the clash of civilizations through the eyeglasses of each party.

Mr. Pipes, your fairness is not permitted in Islam. Arab humiliation will not allow the open dialogue you freely engage with readers. Stop the politically correct mindset or your nation is going to take a major hit. While your airport police are searching down ordinary Americans because they have nice purses or expensive watches, Saudi papers are still presently heaping accolades on the 19 martyred "heroes" of 9/11. Your western subculture is raving about the dangers of George Bush, our subculture is openly plotting to kill Jews and Christians. Why you continue to deny the present-day condition of Islam is a mystery. George Bush was right to say that the Iraqi people will stand up and cheer when liberation comes.

To understand the world of Islam, you must realize that there are four types of Muslims that we ourselves identify. 1) The murderous fanatics of the bin Laden type, 2) The devoted non-violent Muslims that will assist efforts to advance Islam, even violent efforts at times, 3) The 30% of Muslims that only "play along" and wish they had not been born under Islam, and 4) Soft believers that would be open to other religions if given the opportunity.

I know the impulse is strong for you to believe that coexistence and peace is the only route. Please believe me when I tell you I agree with most of your points. I must only add that the sheer number of fanatics, and the unbelievable financial backing they have secured leads any intelligent Muslim, Christian, Jew or secularist to understand clearly that a World War has begun, and Wahabi Islam is going to win or destroy this world in the process.

In short, we Muslims are very afraid. Why aren't you?
