Reader comment on item: The Evil Isn't Islam

Submitted by X Kerensky (United States), Dec 11, 2002 at 11:38

I am new to this forum, so I may be acting on a miconconception, but this has to be said.

"The truth shall sit you free" I know this is from The Bible, but I use this as my personal quote about life, for the truth is always the final factor. And the truth is, that Islam does not promote peace. I have read from their past and their own book, the Qu'ran, that they enjoy fighting and killing. I have read a lot into the history of the nations of Islam and Europe. Both have fought wars for religous reasons. Both peoples believed warfare was important and still do. We all have a past of religous war. The truth is I am not here to battle over the human side of religion but what is in their text.

The Bible preaches love your enemy and turn the other cheek. The Qu'ran says to killl your enemy if he wrongs you. Which is the peaceful religion? I know Musilms will will want me to back it up, but I have better things to do than put the entire Qu'ran on this page. I have read several different versions of the Qu'ran, all which are quite different...odd...I guess you can only read the Quran in its orignal form...too bad that does not exist.

I could go on about whats wrong with Islam for pages, but I just want people to know, the Quran has no standing as a Holy Book like the Bible, thus Islam has no standing as true religion. If you want to talk to me about my claim, ask me, I will not mind defending myself. I do not mind having a cvil descussion about it. Afterall, all I want is the truth, not more lies.

Another thing, although I do not like Islam and I believe muslims can be good, I do not hold people as as genralized evil, only their book.
Good day and enjoy your life, for when we die, we will find the truth
