If it wasn't Daniel backing this, I would say, fair enough, that's an opinion with some plausibility. But seeing it's Daniel, and given his public position then i think the piece comes off as provocative.

personally i think it's true, but then I think the origins of all the God religions are dodgy. The author of the whole thing, Zoroaster, is completely lost in history. He claimed conversation with God of course, everybody does. As for Judaism, it appropriated the universal/monotheistic God of Zoroaster. nobody but a few zealots believe otherwise these days. Christianity is a melange of Judaism and Zoroastrianism, which actually contains considerable contradictions as a result. The origins of all of them are dodgy. There is no such God, it's a made up thing, it really is. No other explanation makes any sense.
