Reader comment on item: The Evil Isn't Islam
in response to reader comment: Only a God would not die!!! The confused Muslim theology

well, dhimmi no more, here you go. the answer is this: a god would not die, yes, but what would it do? a god would live on and on for eternity. a god would not be lifted to the heavens (by a higher being, i.e. Allah) with his return being promised. also, you seem to not know the belief about Jesus in Islam. the belief is that he ASCENDED through the grace of Allah to the heavens. the belief is that he will return at the end of days to fight dajjal (in your terms, the Anti-christ), and here he will die a natural death. so yes, Jesus is human, but he was given the blessing of meeting his Lord early. now if you think that this in itself entitles Jesus to a higher status, then let me point out something else for the sake of argument. the prophet Muhammad (s) was also blessed with a journey to the heavens, to see the gardens of Paradise and the fire of Hell. this was done to stregnthen him in conveying his message. the reason, to my knowledge, that he was not chosen to return was to ensure that the people would not resort to worshipping him...if the people knew that the Prophet (s) was still alive in the heavens, they might have started worshipping him in anticipation of his return. the Prophet Muhammad (s) was chosen by Allah to convey His message, and Jesus was chosen to return at the end of days to shed light to the truth for the last time, and to lead the greatest army into the greatest battle of all time. his Jihad will be the seal and the last of all in this world, and Allah chose him for this honor. my regards, and i await an answer.
