Sticking to the facts (what the Quran actually states about non-believers)

Reader comment on item: The Evil Isn't Islam
in response to reader comment: Where in the bible does it say kill non believers?

Surah 9. Repentance. Dispensation:

5. But when the forbidden months are past, then KILL and SLAY the Pagans whever ye find them, and seize them, beleagur them, and lie in wait for them in every stratagem; but if they repent, and establish regular prayers and practise charity, then open the way for them; for Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful!

Now to set the story straight, I am an Atheist. My views on religion are based soley on what each religions scripture reads. This is not the only verse in the Quran where it states to kill non-believers. So, to me why would anyone want to be in a religion that prmotes hate? There is no rebutle to my statement because I am using only the facts brought forth from the scripture itself. Do we not have enough violence in the world without going around and killing even more people in the name of some God (Allah). What is the point to that? No one on the planet should be able to force another individual into having to submit (assimilate) to another persons religion. There is no doubt in my mind that if religions such as this are able to keep peforming these rituals in the name of their God, our world is doomed. Use your minds and break free from these things. Killing in never a solution and it also is not a good way to promote a religion into having new believers. Prove me wrong I dare anyone!!! ANY RELIGION THAT PROMOTES KILLING IN THE NAME OF GOD SHOULD BE ABANDONED!!! Keep the peace!
