To Zafire: Do research first

Reader comment on item: Pope Benedict XVI and the Koran
in response to reader comment: Comparing Christianity with Islam

Zafire do you know why the nostics did not believe Jesus died on the cross? Let me give you the answer. It's because the nostic believed that human beings could not kill what is eternal. In other words, they believed Jesus was God. Therefore to them the idea of killing God is an oxymoron. According to them, the Romans could never have crucified Jesus because Jesus is God and you cannot kill what is eternal, you cannot kill God. So muslims have nothing to cheer about, because that's not the story one finds in the Koran.

Now why did the first Christians called them nostics? Simple. The nostics believed that Jesus Christ is only God but not human. In contrats, the early Christians believed that Jesus is fully God and Fully human. Therefore, Jesus died on the cross as a human being, but His Divine nature was intact. And the nostics were following gospels which were not authenticated by the early church leaders. Meaning they were following false doctrines.
