Reader comment on item: Pope Benedict XVI and the Koran
in response to reader comment: Pope and Pipes on Revelation

The Pope did NOT say that the bibles are not GODs word, it is believed in Catholicism that the bibles were inspired by the holy spirit, the holy spirit that guards the church and the believing Christians, when I say Christians I am including Catholics

When Jesus said that sabath created for man but not man for sabath, meaning that Christians have came under the mercy of law, i.e. Love, Peace, and Jesus' interpretations of the 10 commandments are what govern Christians. Meaning that Christianity is not rigid like Islam is and meaning that Christians are not slave to the word like the word of Quran, What the Pope was talking about is that Muslims can not adapt to the new civilization because Quran dictates so many rituals that slaves muslims like polygymy, cutting thiefs hands, etc.

Muslims can not change the verse about polygymy and can not change the verse about cutting thiefs hands although it is considered a barbaric acts

Jesus provide us the truth and the truth set us free.

The pope didn't say that the bibles are not words from GOD because the bibles are all about GOD (Jesus) teachings.

I don't think it is nice to jump and accuse the catholic church of corrupting Christianity, we are all brothers and sisters united in our lord Jesus Christ.

Don, I very much appreciate your passion about what you are saying, but remember Jesus' words before accusing the catholic church.

I am Catholic and I know that the church went throgh dark ages in the past and the church apologized for these ages, however, I very much think that the catholic church is on the right direction

Peace be with you
