Who else was the comment for?

Reader comment on item: Pope Benedict XVI and the Koran
in response to reader comment: Keep your comments to me

Like reading science into the Koran you have read into my mail something that wasn't there. To who else have I addressed the comments? I wouldn't dream of wasting my comments on some phantom being. At least you as a mortal are real.

And why am I not in a position to give remarks about god. Millions of people have done it from time immemorial and millions of people are doing it now.

If god or Allah did not want people like us to make such remarks about him he would have prevented us from doing so. He has the power, remember? Why do mere mortals have to jump to his defence.

Whatever a mere mortal like me can say about him does not seem to bother him, as it rightly should not, being such a great and powerful being. Why should it bother other mere mortals? Perhaps God or Allah is willing to wait for the end of my period on earth to roast me in hell. That should be highly satifying to the mere mortals who are his slaves on earth.

If my guess is right what seems to have made you jump to god's defence is probably my statement about 'God also being in the business of misleading translators of the 'book preserved in heaven'. The mortal brains, with some elementary capabilities in logical thinking that God has given me, cannot come to any other conclusion because otherwise how can Arabic/Koran scholars come up with different meanings to the Koran's verses.

Since the Koran is very dear to god would he allow its mistranslation without his say so? And that too by people who fervently believe in it. Also why else, unless God or Allah wishes it so (ie mislead. I could be mistaken but I remember an aya about Allah being better than mortals at deception), would there exist so many tafsirs giving so many different interpretations and believers in each tafsir throwing mud on believers of other tafsirs.
