Conversion or dhimmitude

Reader comment on item: Pope Benedict XVI and the Koran

Submitted by David W. Lincoln (Canada), Jan 17, 2006 at 11:56

I disagree. Islam bears a very close resemblance to Arab culture with some heterodox Jewish liturgies grafted onto it.

The goal of the bomb thrower, or those who want peace, who both assert their identity is shaped by what Mahomet received - the goal is the same: The world embrace Islam, or those too stiff-necked to get used to life in dhimmitude.

As Samuel Huntingdon pointed out in "Clash of Civilizations", the borders of Islam are indeed bloody. And this shows one thing: starting with Mahomet's exertions, a lot of people died before their time, thanks to Arab culture.
