[[Earthquakes take place blah...blah...blah "underneath where human stands" ! What? are you for real? but again education in Malaysia must be a disaster]]
Is this inferiority taking place as facts being presented? There is nothing wrong in learning something new and truthful. What came from underneath will gush upwards do you not agree?
[[By your and the author of the aya flawed logic the Rocky Mountains should be in Malasyia by now so is the Rocky Mountains in Malaysia by any chance?
Now let us see what al-Tabari tells us about this ]]
By your logic cloud is moving in a straight direction. Would not this mean you are saying earth is horizontal? Thus cloud would be moving in one direction back and forth. Certainly that is not the case as cloud movement is affected by earth's rotation.
[[Mr and you must padron me ignorant if the earth rotates which is does then mountains also rotate right? but wait your Allah says that the earth is FLAT AND STATIONARY!]]
Earth is nowhere mentioned to be stationary. As for God making earth spread to be flat and extract waters out of it is for livings things to be able to inhabitate earth. So when human look at the surrounding, would no they see the surface of moon being full of crates and waterless as not extracted. Such comparison will cause human to be grateful and not forget the duty towards the Creator.
[[Then how come the more mountians you have the more earthquakes you would have as in the case of the failed state of Pakistan? Oh you do not believe me? here read this
And no mountains do not have roots or pegs and more damaging to your case is that mountains do not prevent earthquakes and do not stabilize the techtonic movement and do not resemble pegs or act in the manner in which pegs are used]]
Mountains do have roots. The description of Quran is truthful and not contradicting the finding. As earth rotate, it contributes to movement of continent, a bulky shape of peg will cause less vibration towards creatures staying on earth thus making surface of earth inhabitable. As the deeper roots will attract vibration first thus making lands with shorter roots attract vibration less.
As for quakes happening frequently nowadays, that is part of end of times propheices. Scientifaiclly, its all about movements undernearth the surface.
[[Or He made for you the earth as bed and the sky as building (copula)]]
'Like beds and building', well the moment any readers read it it, they will know the verse talks about human being given a place to stay and protected with firm skies as not celestial objects dropping towards earth.
Nowhere does it indicate shape at all. Unless you are visualizing heavens like clay roof in Arabia? Certainly that is not the case, as verses of Quran mentioned about smokes being attribute in space.
[[So in summary your Allah is saying that 1. The earth is flat and it is like you bed 2. The sky is a copula 3. This means that the universe is a tent]]
Reread http://beta.quran.com/78/6-7 for more translations.
[[ The mountains are there to support the sky with the help of pegs (just as you would find in a tent of an Arab) so the sky does not come down crashing on your bed!]]
You are visualizing a real building being earth and sky? And you say pegs support the sky? That doesnt make sense. Vertical posts and horizontal frames of tent will support 'sky' not pegs. I am not sure what tent are you visualizing now, but i hope its not the sort of tent where peg-mountain need to exist at end of universe to pinned down the tent 'skies'.
Basically, the verse mentioned about earth and firmed sky making it a good place to inhabit for human. The next verse mention about earth and it and having firm mountain pegs. When you have something firm and rigid with long deep roots, the root will receive the waves first and later spread to larger area above. Thus making the spreaded land inhabitable.
