Response to Allonehhob and the Other Don, from Don (original)
Submitted by The Original Don (United States), Jan 23, 2006 at 15:05I read the following:
"you [the other Don] are so moderate and gentle, I can see Jesus in your words"
"Be gentle, loving and respectful to others' freedom and feelings."
You need to spend more time in the scriptures. Read Jesus' words in Matthew 23. Read of John the Baptist. Read of all the prophets. How does the Jesus you say you follow square up with the Bible's Jesus? Your man-made revisionist understanding of who He was and how he conducted Himself is a travesty and a shame.
Does calling others "vipers," "hypocrites," "blind guides," sound like the effeminate Jesus you preach? How about driving out the money changers with a scourge? To those who pervert the Word of God, Jesus was extremely harsh, as were all his followers. Jesus was no flaky moderate.
The Jesus of the Bible will return "with a vesture dipped in blood." (Rev. 19) It is written "the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels, In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power; take vengence on those that know not God and believed not the truth." (II Thess 1.7-9)
What of Paul who needed to be let down in a basket after a short preaching stint in Damascus? Why would they want to kill someone who was "respectful to others'…feelings?"
My quoting of scripture has denied no one their freedoms. You do as you will, I will not attempt to stop you physically. I only preach the Truth of the Word of God. The Bible alone. If that hurts your "feelings" then you have problems with God not with me. It is His Holy Word. I would rather see you upset now and convicted to turn to the Truth, than to be coddled now and end up in Hell for worshipping an idol Jesus, devised in your own heart, from the words of men, and not from the Holy Scripture.
I'm afraid that you have bought into the "Jesus" of our effeminate age. Humility, meekness and love have nothing to do with tolerance of corrupt doctrine, or of petting egos, or of making each other feel good. The hypocrites are masters of that. It is written that Moses was the most meek man on the face of the earth, and yet this is the man who prayed that Korah and his following would be swallowed up by the earth. David was a "man after God's heart," but read the Psalms. He prays that the enemies of God will have their teeth broken, will be destroyed by God and many other harsh things which I am fairly certain that you would be disgusted by. Truth is a prerequisite to unity, not the other way around.
I am more interested in seeing a former adversary to the Word of God in Heaven one day, than to massage the consciences of those on the way to Hell.
