Dear xtain, you wonder :

> There must be some reasons why people do convert to the religion of Islam.

During the recent French intifada I browsed some French chatrooms to learn what was going on there as I realized the official reports from were quite useless. In one message at
http://forums.canoe.com/messages/infint/5-3.html

[ unfortunately offline now] someone described the case of a French family he knew that converted to Islam. They lived in one of these banlieues which experienced a gradual influx of Muslim immigrants. The former residents started to close their shops there and moved to other areas to avoid violence and general social and cultural degradation following this Muslim immigration.

The family in question was unfortunately unable to afford to do the same. Mother was divorced or abandoned by her husband and herself had no regular well-piad job and a son was too young to be a support for her. So they stayed. The Muslim "neighbours" knew the family was not Muslim. Every night they vandalized something in or around the house, most often it was the door bell. The family members was were insulted during the day and there was no quiet at night and no way to do anything about that. So they finally gave up and converted and only then daily harassings stopped...
One instructive example on how Islam "acquires" new believers.
