in response to reader comment: Mohammed had 12 wives, one just a 9 year old baby

The Prophet Muhammad (SAW) married 9 women in total. His first marriage when he was 25 was to Khadijah, a wealthy widow of 40. He remarried to Aisha who was about 13-14 (this is a practice to date of most people in the Indian subcontinent and Africa) not 6 or 9 and the hadeeth which this age is mentioned is a weak one. Anyway he married to some other 7 women whom were either widowed or were presented as a favor to him, This was towards the end of his lifetime and he did not marry of lust but what is considered as a show of mercy and affectionate to the women whose husbands had died in the cause of Allah and had children (again this is humanitarian).

As for your question that he butchered many people, the answer is NO. He did not butcher a single person. How could he, when he was sent as mercy to mankind. These are malicious lies. In all his lifetime of battling the non believers, no more than a couple of thousand people were killed. The incident of the Jews in Madina (the 600 or so) whom he ordered be put to death because of their betrayal to the Muslims of Madina and their uniting with the Makkan non believers to kill Muslims of Madina, then that is justifiable. In war, the ally of your enemy is your enemy. No mercy.
