If Muslims believe that Jesus is the annointed one (by God), or the Messiah, then they must also believe that Jesus came to save the world from death. Jesus, through his Holy Blood, conquered the She'ol of Judaism. Most Jews do not believe in the "soul" as we do, and most do not believe in the afterlife. Only the Hassidic and apocalyptic Jews believe in an afterlife with judgement.

The concept of an afterlife thus came after Jesus. The Jews do not believe in this blood sacrifice, and neither do the Muslims. If you admit that there is an afterlife, then you must admit it comes from Jesus, because it did not come from the Jews. If you did not admit that it came from Judaism or Jesus, then you cannot admit that Islam is the "third" revelation.

You admit that Jesus will come again at the end of time to judge as well. I think this places Jesus far beyond the human figure. Not only does He conquer death, but He judges man at the physical resurrection. It is fitting that the God that created an afterlife judges those who may enter it.

Why else would Jesus be the apocalyptic judge?

What about all my other unanswered questions?

Also, all groups believe in Abraham as one of the great prophets. Ishmael was Abraham's son, and he was the half-brother of Isaac. For the record, Christians and Jews believe that Isaac as well as Ishmael (both sons of Abraham) were chosen, but that the descendants of Isaac would form the nations of Jews and Christians, and the descendants of Ishmael would form 12 nations (commonly interpretted as the Islamic nations, although there are more than 12).
