About the Pope and the koran

Reader comment on item: The Pope and the Koran

Submitted by John Bedrossian (United States), Jan 17, 2006 at 22:33

I disagree with your second point in that article. I am surprised that Mr. Taha forgot that some of the peaceful suras ( the heretic reinterpretations and views from the Old and the New Testaments ) which were written in the meccan koran were abrogated by mohammed for the negative and inflammatory ones written in the medinian koran.

That is the dilema, islam is stuck, unless they can find a way to confirm that the peaceful suras were only abrogated while they were in medina but anywhere else they do stand and hence they ( the negative and inflamtory ones ) do no longer apply anywhere else in the modern world since they were only specificly for that period of time in medina.

Sincerely,

JB
