Since when have books that have talked with the authority of God but clearly written by man to convince other men of what to do ever been consistent with morality? Has ANY man ever been as consistent as the Lord expected?

It is clear that although Christianity and Islam have had the common past of torture and dictatorial control over the lands in which they had great influence, but the primary difference is, that Islam STILL has this, and that Islam has an history of conquering lands to force others to live under the Sharia Law.

The difference, in my opinion, isn't the religions themselves - their is definitely plenty of hypocrisy of a Christian (read in...me) pointing out what Islam does that Christianity does not. The difference is the tribal enforcement of the Sharia law and the sheer, radical beliefs(ie...taking some passages WAY too literally) that many outright give to Allah over human rule of law. True, it is being swept away by good reform in the Middle East, but apparently, jihad isn't a fringe aspect of being a devout Muslim. Waging deadly jihad today is seen as the default thing to do in place of eye-rolling, fake respect for the dar el Harb among those who grew up being taught the precepts of Islam over the centuries.

But those who criticize critics of Islam are right by pointing out it's not the religion. I argue it's those who are control of the religion in the dar el Islam...
