Reader comment on item: Pope Benedict XVI and the Koran
in response to reader comment: To reject Muhammad is to reject Christ

Submitted by David (Australia), Aug 14, 2014 at 22:21

... Brushing dogmas aside. Brushing the wrong interpretations of both the Quran and Bible which has led to much disunity. And brushing aside the superstitions that have kept into both Faiths as well as illegitimate wars and killings.... What we have or rather what humanity has is a billion or over beautiful Christians and a billion or more beautiful Muslim people that live good lives and grace this earth with noble deeds. I have travelled in many countries. And I found Muslims, Christians and Buddhist as well as Hindus all welcoming and helpful. There is good and bad in all Faiths but generally speaking the people of all Faiths are good people. We are all humans and we inhabit one planet and it's far better if we get along with each other and respect each others' different Faiths than condemn each other. All Christians and Muslims everywhere are my brothers and sisters. I accept the Bible and the Quran because from my independent investigation I have found them both to be from God and likewise Christ and Muhammad. If I listened to Mullas or priests then I would have to denounce over a billion people which to me is against God's teaching of love for all mankind and therefore is a false doctrine taught by religious elders to maintain a stranglehold over their followers. Beware of anyone preaching not to love all humanity. It is priests and Mullas who have divided us into opposing camps.

I reject that. We are humanity and we are one family. The same God created us all. So we are in reality brothers and sisters unless we listen to our religious leaders. We have been given a mind by God to see truth with our own eyes and I see it that we are all one that divisions and disunity and conflict are created by untruths permeating our minds. All Christians and Muslims are humans and wonderful people and all were created by the same God. So we must love all humanity and not denounce and segregate it because we are a family created by one God.
