Gnostic bible? This is a new one to me... So I did a little searching...

The Gospel of Thomas seems to be a collection of Jesus' sayings from the four Gospels of the Bible, with a few exceptions. Of those exceptions, a small few don't seem to be in line with the teachings of Jesus in the Bible, but without being able to put them in their proper context I have no way of determining their validity...

I also noticed there is a lot of picking and choosing of verses from the Bible to support their claims, and of those verses, some are even taken way out of context. This sort of picking and choosing is commonly used as a basis for many other religions of today as well... And unfortunately, I see 'modern' Christianity heading in the same direction, others may disagree...

So 'at first glance', the gnostic bible seems like another incarnation or reincarnation of a 'mystical', 'spiritual', 'new age' type of theology to me, which is exactly the kind of false teaching and false doctrine we were warned about... Feel free to venture, but I think I've already seen enough...

I'll continue to follow the Holy Bible and the Holy Qur'an as they have both more than conquered the tests of time, accuracy, and consistency... And yes, I say this being full aware of the other point you mentioned... ;)
