Reader comment on item: Pope Benedict XVI and the Koran

Submitted by DONVAN (United States), Jan 17, 2006 at 09:40

Regarding the Papal commments on the nature of the Koran, he is correct and not Dr Pipes.

Islam and the Koran have interpretations by various individuals and clerics. However, the fact Islam has no central organized institution, such as the catholic church, means that no meaningful changes in koranic interpretation is possible. The koran is a blueprint for conquest.

There is no motivation to mollify the doctrine of the koran. The koran gives islam its power. A male dominated ideology which permits, even encourages, enslavement of females, total domination of non-muslims, and slavery will not be given up by academic theories or political threats. Either the west will dominate islam or islam will dominate the west.
