Of all the statements I have read on this post yours is the most heartfelt, as well as the hardest to answer. I sincerely hope your brother in law is a believer in Jesus. If is is he may be able to answer your question best. I'm not really going to try except to say this. By far the biggest part of the equation concerning questions like yours is the part that we cannot see or even imagine now, and that is the life after death. It is on the other side of death that we find the fulfillment of the things we are only promised now. God shall dry all your tears, His comfort will bring understanding. Jesus told us that in this world we can count on tribulation, but that He has overcome the world. Do not be unwilling to tell God your anger and concern.
