Reader comment on item: Pope Benedict XVI and the Koran
in response to reader comment: No "love" in Koran

Submitted by mark carter (United States), Sep 8, 2009 at 06:01

The Koran just says Allah does not Love Unbelievers. It never says Allah does not love his people. The difference between Chrisitanity's God and Islam's Allah is the Christian God loves all unconditionally.

"3.31": Say: If you love Allah, then follow me, Allah will love you and forgive you your faults, and Allah is Forgiving, Merciful

"3.32": Say: Obey Allah and the Apostle; but if they turn back, then surely Allah does not love the unbelievers.

The Bible translates into English as Love but the actually meaning in Greek can have three different types of meaning for the word Love. I am unsure of the meaning of the Arabic translation in the Korean for Love and must do some research on the subject.
