Ianus ..I can ask the whole Christianity that same question. Actually, Islam is a religion historically known of expansion true conversion by choice through trade, research etc..Christianity is the religion of preaching and see the history of that preaching especially during the colonial era. there are threefold answer to the question you asked:

1- Muslim educated Sunnites and educated -quasi secular- Muslims will answer you that they do not want every body to become Muslim because it goes against the natureof things. can you make all people black or white! can you make all the world speak one language! and here I would like to question the validity of the question its self as being non-founded..

2- Muslim extreemists just like Christian fanatics will answer you yes..they want to make the world go their way. See, like G.W. BUSH who says `: either with us or with the terrorist" I find that a manifestation of pure INTELECTUAL NUDITY. None but the donkey has one way because the donkey can not see neither right nor left..and here I would like to state that USA could be way better off with Daniel Pipes instead of GW Bush. can you Imagine Bush running this web site with the mentality of `: my way or the high way"I do not thing I would have these views posted. The west must be shy to have an illeterate figure ruling with a group of the followers of Superman and Zoro..sorry for diagressing here. But againt what is the difference in Bin laden and Bush view of the world!

3- Shiites answer will be that they definitly are not interested in Islamizing the west as by doing that they steal the role of the twelfth Imam who will come at the end of the world.

I hope this helps you Ianus ..

Thank you very much
