Reader comment on item: Pope Benedict XVI and the Koran
in response to reader comment: To Muhammed Fikri, on conversion continued

I am Sister Basimah Legander-Woods, a 52 yr old American caucasian convert to Islam for over 20 years, currently living in West Virginia USA. My young Brother, Mohammed Fikri from Maylasia ,sought assistance from me since he doesnt speak or understand English very well and is confused nor understands half of your 'rants' ---> my word.

What my young friend is trying to tell you is that everything is clear in the Koran when you need answers - which is correct - to those who can read arabic. The english translation goes a long way to be desired because arabic is very difficult to translate into english. Very few non-Muslims (including you) cannot see thru the repetitive Koranic statements in english as being "uncut" from the original Reading that the Prophet Muhammed (peace be upon HIm) was sent from God thru the Angel Gabriel and therefore uncorrupted. The arabic word for One God is ALLAH (the Merciful, most Gracious). It's the same God most (and I mean there are Christian sects that believe in a trinity instead of a single God) Christians, Hebrews and other religious orders pray to and cherish. Get it right - it's not "their" God (ALLAH), its THE One God as to most of the earth prays.

The Koran (or Quran - The Reading) was sent by God to the Arabic nations thru the Prophet Muhammad (peace be unto him) to cease their idolating and worship ONLY the One God. Why the Koran? Because those of the Gospel (Christians) and Torah (Jews) previously sent were corrupted and deemed entirely unsuitable because of descrepancies. I will not debate what, please research for yourself and see as I did.

Today the KING JAMES VERSION (16th century) is the latest corrupted version of God's Word because the King did not like the redundacies and certainly he didnt like what was WRONG in the lifestyle he enjoyed and outlawed in the Bible. Therefore he had his schloars edit and reword it to HIS satisfaction, then forced it down the throats of his period's subjects as the one and Only Bible to be followed - a fallacy most Christians today still follow for some reason knowing full well it was tainted. So dont quote ithis corrupted and edited Bible to Muslims. Their Koran may be repetitive and maybe out of order chronologically as sent to the Prophet Muhammed (pbuh) , but at least it isnt rewritten nor edited. How do I know? Research and scholarship on my own. What began as a theme paper for college became my religion and lifestlye.

Being soft-spoken around the Prophet (pbuh) is a sign of respect and the Prophet (pbuh) and His family further retrospected that doing so to others is the greatest compliment and respect ul gesture you can give to one another. Remember the Bible reference to that "braying like a donkey" only leads to ignorance (i.e. no one will listen to you)? Yes, we do have Muslims who bray, but the majority will walk up to you and speak quietly just as my young brother and friend Fikri has tried to communicate to you.

Thank you for your time and God's Blessing be upon you! Basimah
