Flush all the Holy Books

Reader comment on item: Pope Benedict XVI and the Koran

Submitted by Holy Book Flusher (Canada), Jun 2, 2006 at 14:05

The problem with religious dogma, is the rejection of free thought and the blind faith in old "holy" books which are written or inspired by "god".

It's easy to know what is good and what is bad. All holy books/religions know as much, but then they start adding rules about inheritance, marriage, sex, belief, etc. Ideally we could read holy books, then take the goodness from each of them and find our own faith and belief (no $$ for the church/mosque/synagogue/etc).
The only truth that's cetain is that we exist here. If we worried less about the afterlife, we could create heaven here on earth.

I invite you to clense yourself of the holy status of these man made writings ...
