It was'nt Jesus..

Reader comment on item: A Christian Boom
in response to reader comment: Jesus can't be God

Submitted by donvan (United States), Aug 14, 2007 at 12:22

Jesus Christ did not declare Himself to be the Son of God. We Christians believe him to be the "Son of God". We cannot see light. We can see only the reflection of light. So it is with God. We cannot see God, but we see the "Reflection" of God in all of creation. Jesus has enabled mankind to enter into a personal and direct relationship with God, reflecting His will and word. With faith in Jesus Christ, working thru the Holy Spirit, God is revealed to Humanity. In order to hear a tree fall in the forset, there must be a creator of the sound, a conductor of the sound and a receiver of the sound. God is the creator, Jesus Christ is the conductor and the Holy Spirit enables us to hear the Good News of Jesus Christ, the reflection of the creator God.

This is not possible in the Islamic narrative. "The god" in Islam is inhuman, unapproachable, has no interest in human beings, aside from their submission. Human beings must live out their lives in the predestined will of the god, with no free will to do good or ill. Jesus is God thru the faith of His followers, not because He declare Himself to be. Those who are called by the Holy Spirit to follow Jesus, will find the true reflection of God thru His only begotten son.
