While the state of christianity in the west in not as strong as it has traditionally been. The christian population has shifted from the north to the south.

Christianity barely existed in Atrica 100 years ago. Now it is the dominant religion in most of the countries on the continent.

Christinianity is still strong in latin amerca.

Christianity is also making new in roads into Asia that never existed before. Notably in China.

As for the growth of Islam in the west, I think low european birth rates and high levels of middle eastern immigration. Plus high muslim birth rates are much more of a factor than conversions.
