Our dear Ridwan if you read Q37:133-138 and the story of Sodom and Gomorrah which takes place in Palestine and not in al-Hijaz and as was noted by Michael Cook the Qur'an really says "....and we destroyed the others and you pass by them in the morning and in the night"

Do you know what this means? It means that Muhammad did not even live in Mecca but lived far away north of Mecca and not very far from the sea as Sodom and Gomorrah were not very far from the sea. This means that Muhammad did not live as you claim 100's of miles away from the sea.

More damaging to your case is that the name of his clan is: Quraysh and the word Quraysh is from the Arabic word: al-Qirsh or the shark and why would a clan call themselves Quraysh if they indeed live a long way from the sea?.
