Reader comment on item: A Christian Boom
in response to reader comment: pretend?

Submitted by Servant of Christ (United States), Sep 25, 2006 at 11:55

sorry my friend i think you are sadly mistaken, there is nothing pretend about the quran and there are NO contradictions. not one dot of the quran has ever been changed, people such as winston churchill agree that it is one of the most profound books in the world.

I'm not debating about whether it was changed or not. I'm debating whether it is reliable or not.

as for the bible, there are so many different versions of it, not even christians know what is the truth and what isn't. also christian scholars, say that 75% of what is in the bible is NOT the direct words of Jesus.

Versions in English right? Of course translations are different because well such as NIV, NLT, etc are because of translations. Concerning the New Testament it is said to be 99.5% to same as and the other 5% are just different spellings and rephrasing. The OT is reliable as well with the discovery of Dead Sea Scrolls and other archaelogical discoveries.

as for Jesus being the son of God, in the bible itself, God refers to ALL the prophets such as Moses Abraham, as sons, but only in a metaphorical way.

Jesus was referred to THE SON. SON, FATHER, HOLY SPIRIT. Jesus is one of the persons of God. We are all His sons if we accept Christ, but Jesus was the Son of God. Abraham and Abraham were adopted sons, actually I think they were referred to as children of God. Jesus was God.

wasn't Jesus' prayer "OUR FATHER, who art in heaven" (not MY father). you probably say this prayer daily, like i used to.

You were Catholic then? Well, there are many verses where Jesus said "God is MY Father." And God said this is my Son, whom I love in Jesus' baptism. And remember the birth of Christ, the angelic celebration, the message sent to Mary about Jesus, the Son of God.

Also the quran says that Jesus was not crucified, he was raised up to the heavens, God saved Jesus and changed the appearance of another man to look exactly like him. so it was the man, who was crucified and killed. not Jesus, which is why the Quran says, Jesus will return before the end of time.

Again, you bring up the Qu'ran. First, justify your claims on the authority of it. I showed evidence about the Bible's prophecies, science evidence, archaelogy, and the people who were changed by Christianity.

Now in response to your statement. The Bible says, that Jesus said so Himself, that He would die not some nameless look-a-like. The prophets said so as well. The angels as well. The whole Old Testament/Torah and NT is against this statement. Would the death of this nameless stranger cause an earthquake and resurrection of the dead? That statement that the Qu'ran makes is plausible to the low-context reader.

as for the Quran being authentic, i can prove this very easily, simply type in two words on Google "Quran and Science"

Again, it supports the Big Bang theory. That is its undoing. Big Bang leads up to evolution which leads to atheism. Contradiction. Many of these science statements the Bible makes as well.

FACT> the quran was written over 1400 years ago,

So? The Bible was written from perhaps 1500 BC- 100 AD.

Written in a span of over 1500 year by over 40 authors, 3 languages, 3 continents, from all walks of life. Your Qu'ran is by one man's teachings passed down and unsupported by the Bible and Torah. And to excuse this you claim that they are corrupted.

Bible said the body of the pharoah would never be found because it washed out to sea.

That's so vague... Who is the pharaoh you talk about? Where is the verse?

FACT> THE QURAN SAID HIS BODY WOULD BE FOUND, SO PEOPLE WILL SEE IT AS AN EXAMPLE.

Again, I need more information on this. 'His body' is too vague. Perhaps a name?

FACT> THE BODY WAS FOUND IN 1898 .

Again, so vague.

FACT> the quran has made significant accurate descriptions, of the origin of the Universe, the Human Body, The partitian between the Atlantic and the mediteranian ocean, The Description of mountains, the signs for the day of judgement, the fact that iron did not come from the earth, it was brought down. and many many more facts. which you are ALL free to see for yourselves

Origin of the Universe in the end contradicts itself. Like I said, it leads to evolution which leads to no god. The human body was described in the Bible as well. I don't see how iron was brought down was a fact. Like I said, many of them are The signs of the day of judgement was described in the OT and NT. Islam is not a continuation of Judaism nor Christianity since neither hail its in fact, they label him as a false prophet/teacher.

there is no contradictions or errors in the quran.

I think a few of the other Christians displayed contradictions and errors. You still have yet to prove the Bible unreliable. All I get is, "There's too many translations/versions!"
