Brother Paul,

Peace be on you.

As for your question, I would like you to be the judge for yourself.

Here are some of the facts.

Leviticus, Ch. No.12 Verse No.1 to 5, says that… ‘After a woman gives birth to a male child, she will be unclean for 7 days, and the period of uncleanlinessthe bible will continue for 33 days more. It she give birth to a female child, she will be unclean for two weeks, and the period of uncleanliness will continue for 66 days. In short, if a woman gives birth to a male child… ‘a son', she is unclean for 40 days. If she gives birth to a female child… ‘a daughter', she is unclean for 80 days.

I ask you a simple question: Is a female child seen as a curse in the bible, your scripture? What do you say of equality here?

Furthermore, if women in Islam are mistreated, why are so may women reverting to Islam in the US and Europe (the so called developed societies)?

Out of the total number of people coming to Islam in the US and Europe, 66% are women. May be they have found something better in Islam. Don't you think? Otherwise, why would they give-up their liberated lifestyles? Or is it that they have found their true place in Islam?

Look at the statistics of US. According to the Us department of Justice in 1997, one rape takes place in the US every 32 seconds. !!!!

According to another report one out of twelve persons in the US comits incest.

The facts will give you the answer Paul if you look with an open mind. May be the women who come closer to the Qur'an find peace in their lives. That is why they accept Islam. The women have experienced the WEST where women are treated more for their body and skin.

Dear Paul, I would request you not to believe things on their face value but to look for the deeper facts. All we are doing is following the scriptures. If Christians do not want to follow what is written in the bible about adultery then that is another case altogether. And they have these fantastic!!! (face hiding) facts in front of them.

I would like to end with the quotation of the Glorious Qur'an from Surah Isra Chapter.17, Verse No.81, which says: "When truth is hurled against falsehood, falsehood perishes, for falsehood is by its nature bound to perish."
