"Q" is no big deal to OrthodoxyReader comment on item: A Christian Boom Submitted by Pastor Spomer (United States), Nov 26, 2002 at 23:32 Commenter Richard Burd, I believe you exaggerate the import of JED etc. and the "Q" hypothesis. When these ideas first came out they were naïvely regarded as a form of rationalism's threat to faith. In reality they are nothing of the kind. Whether the authors of the Gospels shared notes in no way contradicts the text's primary authorship by God. These, and other, "faith-shakers" have more to tell us about Victorian social mores than what the Bible actually says. To prove my point, merely see how unimportant these alleged obstacles are to the many believers both in the North and the South. A few effeminate professors in East Anglia may care, but that's it.God Bless (really) Pastor Spomer Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes.
