Why is Islam a religion of Peace?

Reader comment on item: A Christian Boom

Islam is a religion of peace because it is the only religion whose holy book, the holy Quran pictures others in heaven along with Muslims. There is no other holy book outside of the holy Quran that picture people of different religion in heaven together. The Jews believe that only Jews will be in heaven. The Christians believe that only Christians will be in heaven. The holy Quran states that Muslims, Jews, Christians, and any one who believes in God, the day of judgement, and practice righteousness shall be rewarded with heaven.

This statement alone is the blueprint for peace in the world. Muslims who truly follow the Quran have implemented this in their lives. You can study Islamic Spain for the historical evidence of this in the past and you can study Muslim African Americans for evidence of this now. The Jews reported that Islamic Spain was the time of their greatest scholarly study of Judaism. Muslim African Americans have been working on interfaith since 1935. I call this the verse of love because no matter what verse is taken out of context by the disbelievers. It is this verse alone that proves their is no greater love than Allah.

2:62. Those who believe (in the Qur'an), and those who follow the Jewish (scriptures), and the Christians and the Sabians,- any who believe in Allah and the Last Day, and work righteousness, shall have their reward with their Lord; on them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve.
