Christianity must unite

Reader comment on item: A Christian Boom

I believe the time has come for the world to develop into two independent spheres of influence, although in determing the borders conflict is likely. For example, in order to prevent a global war it would be better to agree that Christianity has its corner of the world i.e. Europe, the Americas, much of sub-saharan Africa and Christian countries in Asia such as the Philippines, Australasia etc.. whilst Islam occupies those parts of the globe in which it is in an overwhelming majority, namely, North Africa, the Middle-East, Central Asia and Indonesia. On the fault lines between these two regions there are already numerous wars were the population is mixed Christian and Muslim, such as the Caucasus [Chechenya], Kashmir [Hindu-Muslim conflict], the Moluccas islands in Indonesia and the Christian-Muslim violence in Nigeria. The only way to stop such inter-religious violence spreading to other parts of the planet is to cut the world off into two seperate zones each adhereing to their own principles and religious ideals. This way Muslims could live under Sharia law without complaints from Christians and Christians would not feel as if Muslims were some kind of fifth column infiltrating the West in large numbers and bringing with them terrorists and fanatics.

It is a harsh way to achieve world peace but it has to be said that at the moment there seems no chance of either side agreeing to compromise, and either Christianity folds and gives into Muslim agitation or fights for its own position in the world in order to survive.
