The first part of the Quran was revealed when Muhammad (s) was alive, it was finished before the Prophets death, and Muhammad (s) made sure that no one would change it by making a majority of the Muslims memorize it so that if anyone will try to change it, people will stop them, thats why the people who have memorized the Quran are called Al-Huffadh (the protectors). Parts of the Quran were revealed mostly when a calamity happen such as alcohol. First Muhammad allowed it, but as he strengthened their belief in Allah, he saw that the bad of alcohol is a lot worse than the benefits of alcohol because he saw someone praying and reciting Quran totally opposite to what it says. So he reduced it to, only drink alcohol long before prayer, and then when he made their belief stronger so that his followers will not hesitate to throw their alcohol away (alcohol was very precious in Medina) , he totally abolished it.

The reason why because Muhammad (s) said that "Alcohol is the mother of all evils" and because of that is this story. There was a Holy man of his time, but the jews hated him and wanted to frame him for a crime so they locked him in a room with a woman and a child and a bottle of alcohol. He had to do ONE of the things to get out again, one was to drink the alcohol, 2nd was to commit adultery with the woman, 3rd was to kill the child, he thought that alcohol wasnt as bad as the other two but when he drank the whole bottle, he did the other two things, he killed the child and commited adultery with the woman.

Muhammad (s) didnt know how to handle situations like this so he asked Allah and Allah revealed it in the Quran, in Muhammeds Life. Muhammed (s) said that I will leave you two things, My Sunnah (My way of life) and the Quran) And do not worship me when I am gone, because i was a Messenger to Allah, who is the God.

sorry have to go :), nice talking again bye
