If they were really fundamentalist . . .

Surely if American Christian 'Fundamentalists' were truly intent on going back to the fundamentals they'd be joining the original Christian Church and becoming 'Orthodox' rather than reinventing Christianity yet again to suit their own prejudiced, selective, mis-interpretation of the religion they've chosen to pervert.

I'd feel a lot less concerned if Americans were attending religious services performed by devout Orthodox priests in robes rather than hellfire preachers ranting about the 'rapture' (which seems to be an invention of a renegade British Anglican vicar about 100 years ago) while wearing expensive suits, and I suspect living in large houses, driving huge 'diesel guzzling' SUVs, etc.
