Jesus in the Bible

Reader comment on item: A Christian Boom
in response to reader comment: Muhammad was in the Bible

Submitted by Servant of Christ (United States), Dec 16, 2006 at 00:22

Here is a prophecy for Muhammad (pbuh) from the Bible:

Deut 18:18 it says that God wil raise an prophet like Moses and I believe that prophet is Muhammad (pbuh).

May Allah Bless You All

Thanks Nawab for your comment!

Yes, Moses did prophecy the coming of a prophet, however that prophet was Jesus Christ not Muhammad. Let's examine the verse before Deut. 18:18 which is Moses speaking:

The LORD your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among your own brothers. You must listen to him (Deuteronomy 18:15 NIV) emphasis added

Deuteronomy 18:18 is God speaking. Both verses say that the prophet would be Jewish. Jesus was Jewish and was very similar to Moses (besides the divine-like qualities Jesus possessed). This prophecy was fulfilled here:

22For Moses said, 'The Lord your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among your own people; you must listen to everything he tells you. (Acts 3:22 NIV)

My Regards,

May God Bless You
