Islam is "buying" converts in Africa

Reader comment on item: A Christian Boom

I could not believe what i read about "christians paying for poor africans to convert" or "christians are feeding poor africans for conversions". This is a joke. I have been to Uganda, Nigeria, Rwanda, burundi, Congo, Kenya, Tanzania, Ivory Coast, Ghana and Ehtiopia and in all of these countries (all of them predominantly christian countries except for Ivory Coast) all i saw there was a thriving Christianity, growing, vibrating, muslims coming to churches and converting (without being fed physically but only spiritually). I am a European businessman and i am not very religious, but when i am in africa I love to go to church. Nobody has to pay Africans to go to church they love it and they flock in churches and sing and dance and praise the Lord!!!

Islam is also trying to expand by building mosques, hospitals, schools and letting "muslims only" in. If someone wants his kids to go to a muslim school or have surgery at a muslim hospital, they have to convert to islam first. I saw this in Rwanda, Kenya and in Congo particularly. But people are not convinced of islam. they receive the treatment and money of muslims but behind the backs of the arabs they laugh about them and go to church on sunday.

Islam is not succesful. People think of it as evil.
