Christianity Is a Personal Religion, Not a "Group" Religion

Reader comment on item: A Christian Boom
in response to reader comment: Servant of Christ and Humanism

Servant of Christ humanism is not a lie because that what Christianity is today.

Desiderius Erasmus who was a Humanist brought the Catholic tradition and Humanism together and that is why I believe that Christianity is based on Humanism today and not the Bible.

I am not Catholic because many things they do are contrary to Scripture. True Christianity will be based off the Bible.

Humanism focuses on the individual needs while religion based it's belief upon a group of people.

I will not argue for other religions, however Christianity focuses on each person individually. It is a person committing himself to God, and putting what God wants rather than what the person wants. And God wants this:

"Love thy neighbor as thyself"

"Show kindness to the poor"

"Be holy"

God changes each person INDIVIDUALLY, ONE at a time. Christianity is more than a religion, it is a relationship between God and man.

That is one of the many reasons why Humanism is better than religion.

I'd like to hear the others. Might I remind you how Humanism has failed us in the past?

Have you ceded from your evolutionary standpoint? Do you wish to continue to defend it?

May God Bless You All
