"Women are property of men in the Bible."

Nowhere in the Bible does it ever state that women are the property of men. In the NT book of Galatians states in 3:28 "There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free person, there is not male or female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus." ( The New American Bible ) This verse from the Bible states the dignity and respect that is to be given to women in the Christian faith. In regards to husbands and wives, in Ephesians 5:21 tells that both the husband and wive must be subordinate to one another.

The reason why for the directives on husband/wife relationships in Ephesians chapter 5 is because that relationship is to be seen in light of the love Christ Jesus has for his bride, the church and he gaved his life for the church. Thus the church is to be subordinate to Christ in the form of both love and service. Peace.
