Infidel in utopiaReader comment on item: Pope Benedict Criticizes Islam Submitted by trans-parere (Canada), Oct 9, 2006 at 05:00 Dear Infidel Thank you for your question on utopia and religion. Second, where does the question refer to my post to Palli.? The governments of France and Britain have rather chosen to not enforce their social responsibilities in the hopes that by steping down in the face of Islamic violence peace will return to the land. What's a couple of square miles of ghettoized violent Islamic radicalism to France or Britain. It's contained. Right? My view is to step in hard and fast, not with anti-Islamic rhetoric or promoting hatred or violent reaction from non-Muslims but, with law. Not supraliberalism, not authoritarian excess and reduction of civil liberty. Law. Clean, concise, nonprejudicial law in the re-enforcement of democracy. Poor Robert Redeker of France. He writes an article on Islam and the free world, his opinion, and his right as a protected freedom under law in democracy. Islamist issue a fatwa of sentence of death because they don't like Robert saying Islam is a violent religion. If you go to France and ask at the university where Redeker taught, or the newspaper where he worked, or ask the police about his well being, or ask the French government if they are aware of Robert Redekers plight....all you will hear in answer is Robert who? Robert Redeker, his wife, his children, are on the run and in hiding because their government and institutions have capitulated in the face of Islamic terror. BTW the word Infidel doesn't just refer to an unbeliever, one who is against Christianity. That's right. It's not an Arabic word. It's root comes from the latin "being unfaithful". It conceptually transcends religion. Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes. Original writing only, please.
