An inconvenient truth

Reader comment on item: Pope Benedict Criticizes Islam [in Regensburg]

Submitted by Walter Kopilow (United States), Sep 19, 2006 at 17:50

Let me get this straight. The Pope quoted some Byzantine Emperor, and all holy hell breaks out. Islam was called a religion of violence; and the world's muslims responded by enacting violence against churches and Christian clerics (shooting one woman in the back - what bravery).

Any objective student of History can tell you about the spread of Islam through the Mid-east, northern Africa, and the Iberian Penninsula. Their battle cry was "THE KORAN OR THE SWORD". Countess thousands of Christians, Jews and others were slaughtered by this benevolent and peaceful religion. But here, in the United States, our politically correct college professors will not mention this inconvenient truth. Political Correctness will be the death knell of our Republic and possibly the world.
