Validation of Pope Benedict's remarks!

Reader comment on item: Pope Benedict Criticizes Islam [in Regensburg]

Submitted by Elroy J. Shafer (United States), Sep 30, 2006 at 03:36

One only needs to read news articles or observe the violence of Islamics shown on T.V.. to verify the contention of the violent nature of certain followers of Mohammed and then make a comparison to the lack of violence on the part of the "non-believers. How often have you seen members of Western society take to the streets in riouous rage, pillaging, burning and yes, even killing after learning from the print media or from T.V. that the gentle and kindly disposed Islamics had beheaded a journalst or any of the multitude of innocents to suffer a similar fate? You will not find such unrestrained anger and hatred manifested by gentler and nobler humans.

If one reads the Koran and the many books which document the violent life of the "Prophet" no other conclusion can be reached but that the Prophet was a man of violent disposition who viewed the killing of non-believers or those who opposed him, as the means to further the advance of his aims and beliefs.

The statement made by Pope Benedict was benign when compared the true facts which history records throughout history, begining with the first poblication of Mohammeds writings. Read the Koran carefully, sura by sura, verse by verse and be enlightened!

Anyone for a "fatwah?
