Aziz,

this is a very scholarly approach to the whole question. It is an excellent piece, even if I would disagree with your comments about the spread of Islam.

It seems that what you have left out is the part about the demand to either submit to Islam or die, which is the demand that Mohammed made prior to his killing spree in several Arab nations.
