Islam - today's global scourge

Reader comment on item: Pope Benedict Criticizes Islam [in Regensburg]

I, as an ordinary global citizen cannot but be frightened by the global islamic scourge. Clearly it is a clash of cultures - the enlightened and the medieval. Oh yes, Christianity has had its share of sins, but then we have all moved on.

Islam is incapable of reformation as its core culture is one of mental slavery!! Imagine, women in Pakistan protesting AGAINST the proposal to change rape laws to give women half a chance for justice.

The hypocrisy of muslims is simply incredible in my mind. Have anyone heard of a global reaction to gross injustice perpetrated by muslims? Who in the muslim world has protested against the horrendous slaughter in Darfur - where are the fatwahs???? Not a peep from the Supreme leader in Iran - the "pox be upon him".

... I shudder to think of the consequences. Unfortunately the world is scared to say it like it is - as if by pussyfooting around the reality will somehow make the problem go away. The bilge that "world leader" utters - where is the hope??!! The whole basis and tenets of Islam are spurious. May the Creator God help us.
