Double standards

Reader comment on item: Pope Benedict Criticizes Islam [in Regensburg]

Submitted by JustMe (United States), Sep 19, 2006 at 13:33

Double standards are what these Muslims expect and depend upon. Today, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad refuses to attend the luncheon at the U.N. because he wouldn't want to be in a room where alcohol is being served due to his strong commitment to being such a good Muslim for Allah. Ahmadinejad, on the other hand, has no problems with murder, calling for the removal of entire nations, being key in the kidnapping of Americans, or backing terrorism all over the world. I'm sure Allah is proud of him, though, on his stance against alcohol. He obviously doesn't realize how ridiculous he looks!

I find it fascinating that a 14th century Byzantine emperor hit the nail squarely on the head in his description that the Pope repeated. It applies so accurately to what the world is dealing with regarding Islam. Nobody wants to ruffle the feathers of a whacked out homicidal bird though. I suppose politicians around the world will just remain silent, but the quote is EXACTLY what everyone knows to be true. It will be the silent truth that we all know but can't speak.

I believe things won't be getting any better until they get worse. We have to quit believeing the soothing calls of those who keep telling us to just keep working things out with resolutions and talks and more talks and sanctions and on and on and on. Sooner or later, people will feel so unsafe that they will HAVE to take a stand and quit being a bunch of cowering cowards. Even the Dems will get to a breaking point and instead of criticizing any type of tough stance we take on these jokers, they'll be demanding tougher actions to protect their politically correct arses. Even at that point, I'm sure they will suddenly criticize the administration for not taking these whackos seriously enough and for not dealing with this situation more aggressively.
