Land of the Free and Home of the Brave???

Reader comment on item: Pope Benedict Criticizes Islam [in Regensburg]
in response to reader comment: God Bless the Pope

I was listening to the American anthem "Land of the Free and Home of the Brave", then I read a New York Times article that called Pope Benedict XVI's latest remarks about Islam "tragic and dangerous" and urged him to apologize. The original speach of the Pope is posted at:

http://www.vatican.va/holy_father/benedict_xvi/speeches/2006/september/documents/hf_ben-xvi_spe_20060912_university-regensburg_en.html

I did not find anything of offensive to Islam in that; does not one have freedom of speech for the New York Times???

The Pope said something which is historically true, but what about Dan Brown, was he not offensive to the Catholic Church? What about the singer madonna who made a blasphemous concert in Rome simulating a cucifixion? Why the New York Times not make any editorial on the matter if this journal is so kind to religion???
